Did you know that Northern Ontario is Canada's most lucrative exploration and mining area for mining companies?
It's true. Prospectors and junior mining companies are finding and discovering gold, diamonds, palladium, chromite, graphite, zinc, and other precious and industrial metals throughout Northern Ontario. Countries all over the world depend on these minerals and metals to help build their nations infrastructure like schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, airstrips - whatever is needed.
Check it out. The area of exploration known as the "Ring of Fire" is a massive 5,120-
square-kilometer area located in the James Bay Lowlands. Several communities are
located near or alongside this area. It is predicted to hold one of the richest ore deposits
in the world. Initial estimates put the potential value of the resources on these lands at
$30 - $50 billion!
In fact, there are over 30 exploration and
mining projects in the Ring of Fire alone.
At least 2 of these projects are in the early
development phase and are projecting to
begin production by 2016.
In addition to these projects there are both
open pit and underground mine sites
throughout Northern Ontario that are
already in production like the Goldcorp
Musselwhite Mine. The Musselwhite gold
mine employs over 800 people.

Many of these people work on the surface in various occupational areas like administration,
camp services, trades such as millwright or heavy mechanics, and environmental
monitoring. Many of the really exciting and high paying jobs are held by those men and
women who work hundreds of meters beneath the surface.
The booming mining industry in Northern Ontario is creating a demand for a skilled workforce.
In fact, if your community is planning to partner or already has partnered with an
exploration or mining company then it creates lots of opportunities for training and employment
for young men and women.
Did you know that the Ontario mining industry will need to hire at least 10,000 new workers
by 2018? Where are all these workers going to come from?
Well, from people like you. That is, if you’re interested and willing.
